Sound Designer

Beth Lake is freelance Sound Designer and theater practitioner based in New York City. Her favorite projects are those rooted in familiar literature, such as Anna Karenina, and Jane Eyre. She also specializes in fostering new plays, and incorporating sound design early in the development phase.

Beth has been active in the LORT regional theater world throughout her career. She has taken part in productions at: The Alley Theater, Houston; McCarter Theater; Long Wharf Theater; Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park; TheaterWorks­Hartford; South Coast Repertory; Geffen Playhouse; St. Louis Repertory, and St. Louis Opera among many others.

Beth holds an MFA in Sound Design from the University of California­Irvine. During her time at UCI she represented the program at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design, and Space. She also holds a BA in Theater Arts and Design from the University of Northern Colorado.
